'Staycationers' Boost Bookings at Shropshire Caravan Park
30th March 2010
Bookings at Stanmore Hall Touring Park at Bridgnorth are running ahead of the same period last year, when there was a 20 per increase in business.
Park owner Morris Leisure, based in Shrewsbury, is confident that 2010 will set a new record for visitors as more British people take their holidays in Britain because of the high cost of foreign travel due to currency exchange rates.
Keen to maintain the park's five star status, the company has recently upgraded the toilet and amenity facilities. Set within 12.5 acres of wooded parkland, the park has 131 touring pitches where caravanners enjoy attractive lake views.
The park is a prestigious affiliated site of The Caravan Club, which provides high quality services to one million caravan and motor caravan owners. There are only 200 sites in the UK that are owned by or affiliated to the club.
"Caravan Club members expect the best facilities when they book to stay at the park and that's what we always strive to provide," said Morris Leisure's managing director Edward Goddard. "Our aim is not just to maintain the five star status but to constantly improve the park.
"The early signs are pointing to an even busier year ahead at Stanmore Hall. Our spring bookings are up on last year and we are confident this trend will continue into the summer."
Stanmore Hall Touring Park is ideally placed for a number of tourist attractions across Shropshire and the West Midlands, including the Severn Valley Railway and Ironbridge Gorge Museums.
