Shropshire Tourism would like to wish all the winners and finalists huge congratulations!
Best Family Day Out – Large Venue
Congratulations to Ironbridge Gorge Museums and runners up Hawkstone Park & Follies in north Shropshire and the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford.
Best Family Day Out - Small Venue
Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms scooped first prize, with runners up Park Hall Farm in Oswestry and Rednal Karting, Paintball and Laser.
Best Cafe or Tea Room
This was a tie between the Old Mill Tea Room in the Antique Centre in Bridgnorth and Festival Drayton Centre, in Market Drayton. The pair beat off touch competition from Wem’s ‘The Nest’, in the The Soulbird Gallery.
Best Takeaway - East
The award went to Silver Fish on Tan Bank in Wellington. Runners up were Chinese takeaway Ambrosia in Market Drayton and Indian restaurant and takeaway Mishu in High Street, Madeley.
Best Takeaway - West
The winner was Shalimar Indian Restaurant in Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury.
Best Posh Nosh
The Hundred House Hotel in Norton near Shifnal emerged the winner for the second year ahead of House of the Rising Sun in Shrewsbury and the Albright Hussey Manor Hotel, just outside the town.
Best Pub Grub - East
The Woodbridge Inn in Coalport (run by Brunning and Price) took first place, with runners up The Down Inn near Bridgnorth and The Huntsman of Little Wenlock.
Best Pub Grub - West
It was a double celebration for Brunning and Price with The Armoury in Shrewsbury taking first place. Runners up were The Coach and Horses in the town and The Wingfield Arms at Montford Bridge.
The Bear at Hodnet scooped first place, with runners up The Prince of Wales, in Belle Vue, Shrewsbury, The Green Dragon in Little Stretton and the New Inn in Hadnall.
Best Evening Out East
The Festival Drayton Centre were crowned winners, ahead of other finalists, the Southwater Development in Telford and The Place, also known as Oakengates Theatre.
Best Evening Out West
Theatre Severn took first place in an all-Shrewsbury final, ahead of Gala Bingo and and The Old Market Hall.
Event of the Year
Last but not least a huge congratulations to Shrewsbury Flower Show who won Event of the Year, and finalists Newport Nocturne and RAF Cosford Air Show.
