THE SEVERN Valley Railway was back on national telly for the second time in six days on Sunday (October 21st) - as the launch pad for ‘How Britain Worked’, a new Channel 4 documentary series highlighting craftsman skills of the Industrial Revolution, many of which are still practised on the Kidderminster - Bridgnorth steam heritage line today.

THE SEVERN Valley Railway is expanding its ‘Halloween season’ of family-friendly Ghost Trains at the end of this month, following the sell-out success of its first dabble into the world of ghouls and ghosts last year.

SPURRED by the chance to see and ride behind steam locomotives never before seen on the Kidderminster-to-Bridgnorth ‘heritage’ line, railway enthusiasts in their thousands will once again make a bee-line for the Severn Valley Railway next weekend for the railway’s three-day Autumn Steam Gala (Friday September 21st - Sunday September 23rd).

Popular TV Presenter James May took a flight in a WW1 tri plane and battled in a thrilling mid-air combat yesterday, when he took a ride in the RAF Museum Cosford’s exciting new 4D Experience. James was joined on the ride by three lucky competition winners along with their friends and family as they took their seats on board the Museum’s latest exhibit.

The Royal Air Force Museum Cosford will be commemorating the Battle of Britain, considered the most important event in Royal Air Force history, with a nostalgic family weekend of events and activities for the whole family to enjoy. A main highlight over the weekend will be a flypast on Saturday 15th September from a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire (weather permitting).
