For a fun day out during the Twixmas festive period, 26th – 31st December, go along to the Ironbridge Gorge Museums in Shropshire’s stunning Severn Valley where six of the ten museums will be open daily from 10am until 4pm. They will only be closing on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.


A 'one-night-only' Theatre Performance of 'A Christmas Carol' to be held at Country Park

Shropshire Council is happy to welcome the Rain or Shine Theatre Company to the Severn Valley Country Park for a ‘one-night only’ performance of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’. Rain or Shine Theatre Company are setting up stage at the country park on Sunday 3rd January 2016 as part of their national winter tour.

On Wednesday 16th December, Shropshire Council countryside rangers at Severn Valley Country Park are holding a Christmas wreath making session. During the winter months, the park has a wealth of natural items including ivy, cones and berries which are perfect to adorn a festive wreath.


Apley’s Christmas Food Fair

A farm shop near Bridgnorth is holding its annual Christmas Food Fair this Saturday (28 Nov) including an impressive schedule of free cookery demonstrations (10-4pm). Amongst those on the stage will be award-winning Thai chef, Suree Coates of the King & Thai in Broseley, who won the Midlands Good Food Guide Restaurant of the Year 2015.


Apley Farm Shop butcher strikes gold

Apley Farm Shop struck gold this weekend at a prestigious competition for sausages & pies. Butchers John Callinswood & Craig Whitehouse won a gold award (97/100) for their traditional pork sausage & a silver award (94/100) - Pork Stilton & Spring Onion – just 1 point off another gold award.
