Description

Beautifully converted cottage offering spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to 4 people. The Barn is tucked away down a quiet lane in the centre of Much Wenlock. The lounge and dining rooms have French doors leading out to a characterful walled garden.

The Barn is situated in the small and picturesque town of Much Wenlock in Shropshire. The town has a wealth of characterful houses, friendly traditional pubs, a good range of individual shops and one of the most impressive sets of monastic ruins in the country. A short walk from the cottage leads you to the bucolic Shropshire countryside. There are numerous well-marked footpaths in the area which lead (among other places) to the Wenlock Edge.

The cottage was converted from stables which belonged to the Raven Coaching Inn during the 1980s. It is peacefully but centrally situated in the centre of Much Wenlock. Many of the original oak beamed ceilings and walls have been retained giving the property a sense of its history.

The accommodation faces a beautiful walled garden which is the perfect location to relax in and also a safe and secure place for children to play. Garden furniture is provided.

Downstairs the cottage has a spacious lounge with a Laura Ashley sofa and two armchairs. There is a gas-fired coal effect hole-in-the-wall fire which gives a cosy feel to the room. A dining room with pine table and six chairs leads from the lounge. Both these rooms have French doors leading to the walled garden. The compact kitchen has an electric cooker with 4 ceramic hobs and two ovens, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. A washer/dryer machine and small freezer are also provided.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms. One has a king sized bed, fitted wardrobe and two chest of drawers. The second bedroom has two single beds, wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Also upstairs are the recently refurbished main bathroom and separate shower room.

The cottage is well presented and electricity, gas heating, bedlinen and towels are provided free of charge. Please contact us if you would like further information or to check availability.
