Boningale Manor Barns
Self Catering in Albrighton, Shropshire
Boningale Manor takes pride in warmly welcoming families, business people and international guests to our luxurious self catering (or B&B) facilities.
Grade II listed barns (with features dating back to the 1400s, last worked in the mid 1900s) have been imaginatively brought back to life to provide 3 luxurious, fully equipped self catering choices. They are set in farmland and share access to a fabulous sunken garden.
A generous twin-bedded ground floor apartment built with easy-access in mind. Four high arches used to accommodate the 'wains' have become windows that allow light to flood into the sitting room, dining room and bedroom. Ease of access is maintained with a shower facility. The kitchen door opens directly in the sunken garden and patio.
A twin-bedded first floor apartment has all of the space and facilities of The Haywains, yet feels really very cosy. The sloped ceilings and beams allow a bathroom rather than a shower room.
The Haywains and The Hayloft can be combined for larger groups.
The ground floor of our cottage is a semi-open plan kitchen-dining room-sitting room format. We've put a show-room kitchen and comfortable sofas. The two twin-bedrooms (can be double) each have their own private staircase and shower room. The sitting room door opens into the sunken garden and a patio.
THE ROUND HOUSE
A unique circular building that was formally used as a Horse engine shed, and, more recently stables, has been converted to easy access self catering accommodation. The fully fitted kitchen has plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils for unexpected guests. The dining area and sitting room are open plan with a large flat screen tv and comfortable leather sofa bed. Large south facing, double glazed, oak windows allow the sunlight to flood in to the room. There are beautiful views over the Shropshire countryside and the local landmark "The Wrekin."
The generous twin or double bedroom with views of the paddock has access to a single galleried bedroom by a space saving staircase, which is ideal for small families.
The bathroom has both a traditional cast iron bath and a large easy access shower. The accommodation has underfloor heating throughout. Enjoy walking on the warm tiles in the kitchen and bathroom!
Access is by a brick ramp and very small step.
Our self catering is generally available midweek (Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs nights) weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun nights) or longer.
Slumber: having run B&B for years (and appreciating a good night's sleep ourselves) we've happily chosen quality beds and bedding.
Catering and Dining: you'll find kitchens fully equipped with ceramic hob and fan assisted oven, fridge/freezer and microwave. Tables and chairs. There's crockery, utensils and glasses enough for guests, too.
Other notes: you'll find a welcome tray to allow you to relax after your journey. The accommodation is centrally heated. Linen and towels are supplied. You'll have free access to shared laundry and pressing facilities. There's an excellent barbeque that can be booked; and there's good pub food only a 5 minute walk away.
Boningale Manor is only minutes away from Abrighton (David Austin Roses) RAF Cosford, Weston Park, Patshull Park, Pattingham, Codsall, Compton and north Wolverhampton, Telford and Ironbridge. From junction 3 M54, take A41 towards Wolverhampton, at second set of traffic (approx 3 miles) turn hard right onto A464. We are one mile on the right, just after the Summerhouse Inn.
