Jason Hodnett, from The Raven in Much Wenlock, will feature during the week beginning April 7th 2014.

He will be up against 23 of the nation's top chefs who will be challenged to produce 21st century dishes for war heroes.

The series will culminate with a banquet at London's St Paul's Cathedral to mark the 70th anniversary of D Day.

The series has been filmed – but Jason has been been sworn to secrecy. He said: “We had a week filming here at The Raven and a week filming in the studio. My grandfather, Benjamin Bowness, fought in Korea and other parts of the world. He was a war hero. Unfortunately, he passed away in January. He knew I was cooking as part of the D-Day Great British Menu, though he did not live to see it. My participation is my way of paying tribute to him."
