Valentine’s Day at your local farm shop

Valentine’s Day at your local farm shop
A farm shop near Bridgnorth has installed probably the largest heart in Shropshire this week, made from laurel leaves.

“It took some time & a few staff to get it properly hung, but it looks wonderful & adds a fabulous touch to the shop for the next fortnight” said Tina Buckland, General Manager.

Apley Farm Shop’s Creamery Café is offering Valentine’s Day lunches & Afternoon Teas, due to the popularity of the event last year. “Afternoon Teas include a glass of Prosecco which our customers really appreciate. It gives a twist to our country style Valentine’s Day” began Lady Hamilton, Marketing Manager.

General Manager Tina Buckland said “£19.95 is incredible value for 3 courses & includes Apley Estate’s own beef & Apley Walled Garden vegetables. When they’re here, our customers like the fact they know where their food has come from & can even see the Apley farming at work around the shop”.

Matt Jones, Head Chef of the Creamery Café added “Afternoon Teas were incredibly popular last year, so this year we’ve had to make booking essential. Our food is very wholesome, fresh & tasty. When combined with friendly service from local staff, it really appeals to our loyal customers.”

In the Farm Shop itself, we have lots of Valentines present ideas - beautifully decorated potted flowers, Ladies’ Apley hampers, indulgent treats for a romantic meal, locally produced Valentine’s cards & hand-carved heart shaped cheeseboards, heart decorated spoons & bowls made from wood from the Apley Estate.

If you’d rather a romantic meal at home, there’s £20 Meal Deal which includes a bottle of Portada wine (red or white), 2 steaks Apley’s Butcher & 2 handmade tarts (1 lemon, 1 chocolate).

For the most romantic day of the year, Shropshire florist Big Little Things, in Apley Farm Shop’s courtyard, have fresh bouquets of Valentine’s Day flowers as well as a range of unusual & personalized presents.

Valentine's lunches are only available on Sunday 14 Feb, 12-4pm & booking is strongly recommended. Valentine's Day Afternoon Teas (£14.95) are on offer all weekend - Sat 13 Feb as well as Sunday 14 Feb, also running 12-4pm (last serving 3:30pm). Booking for teas is essential.

For busy or distant customers, Apley Farm Shop’s online DeliShop also has fabulous Valentine's Day pressies available for Click & Collect (some items are available for home delivery).

If you miss the Valentine's weekend, they will be offering lunches & Afternoon Teas for Mothers' Day on (6 March) & lunches on Easter Sunday (27 March) too.
