Popular Caravan Parks Report a Busy Summer
8th August 2012
Bookings for 2012 are running ahead of last year at Riverside Touring Park, Betws-y-Coed, Oxon Touring Park, Shrewsbury and Stanmore Hall Touring Park, Bridgnorth. In addition, the company is delighted with the response to its new £3 million Ludlow Touring Park, which opened in May.
The parks are owned by Morris Leisure, based in Shrewsbury, whose managing director Edward Goddard is delighted with the number of caravanners attracted to the parks, despite the disappointing summer weather.
“We are in the midst of the peak holiday season and all four of our touring parks are very busy,” said Mr Goddard. “We are certainly still reaping the benefits of staycationing, with more people spending their main holiday in Britain this year despite the unsettled weather.
“We find that the majority of caravanners and motorhome owners that visit our parks live within a two-hour drive, which makes travelling much more convenient. There is also a growing trend for people to take lots of short breaks rather than long holidays and caravanning is an ideal way to do that.”
Riverside Touring Park and Stanmore Hall Touring Park are both prestigious affiliated sites of The Caravan Club, which provides high quality services for one million caravan and motor caravan owners. There are only 20 sites in Wales and 200 in the UK that are owned by or affiliated to the club.
