Join in the Harvest Festival at Blists Hill Victorian Town
11th July 2014
The best of the season’s produce will be on display in the church and in the gardens for all to see and a thanksgiving service will be held in the small Mission Church for the townsfolk at 12 noon. Everyone is invited to visit the Pleasure Gardens at 2pm, where there will be an open air service and everyone can join the celebrations by singing hymns.
Afterwards chat to the townsfolk in their shops and cottages and see traditional skills in action at the printers, candle makers and decorative plasterers. Then buy a celebratory pint in the New Inn or portion of traditionally prepared fish and chips from the town’s Fried Fish Dealer.
