Illustrated talk at the Severn Valley Country Park in
Shropshire Birder, Jim Almond is visiting the Severn Valley Country Park to give an illustrated talk about the varied wildlife around the county.

The talk looks at the birds, butterflies, dragonflies and other interesting guests which are found at several key reserves and sites within Shropshire.

The talk travels around the whole of the county, starting in the North with Whixall Moss, Wood Lane, the Meres and Prees Heath. It then visits the South Shropshire Hills and in particular, the Longmynd, Catherton Common and Titterstone Clee. Chelmarsh and the Wrekin bring the focus to central Shropshire before looking at the wildlife found at Venus Pool near Shrewsbury.

The County holds significant rare insects such as the Silver studded Blue butterfly and Keeled Skimmer Dragonfly, you will find out where and when to look. The bird life too is very diverse and you can discover , amongst other things, where to see Red Kites.

Visitor Centre Manager, Susie Comaish says ‘the talk combines Jim’s 2 passions of wildlife and photography. Jim’s photographs are spectacular and bring the local wildlife into the spotlight.’
