Guided walk - Snowdrops at Tuck Hill

Guided walk - Snowdrops at Tuck Hill in
Keep fit with a 10 ½ mile guided walk from Alveley to Tuck Hill to see the display of snowdrops, 9.15am – 4pm.

On Monday 9th February, Shropshire Council’s Outdoor Recreation Officers at Severn Valley Country Park are inviting visitors to join them on a 10 ½ mile guided walk.

The circular walk starts at the country park and follows a route through Alveley over Romsley Hill and along the Shropshire and Staffordshire border to Tuck Hill. At Tuck Hill there will be the opportunity to view the wonderful display of snowdrops at Holy Innocents’ churchyard. The church will also be open to look round. Our thanks to the congregation and Rev. Ward for opening the church. After lunch we will return to the park taking in fine views of the Shropshire hills.

Walking is a good way to keep fit and this walk is a great way to achieve the daily target of 10,000 steps as recommended by the NHS. It is said that a brisk 10 minute walk is equivalent to 1,000 steps. Meet at the Visitor Centre at 9.15am and we will return by 4pm.

Visitors joining the country park rangers are asked to bring a packed lunch with drink as breaks will be taken along the way and also to wear walking boots and gaiters due to muddy paths. Please bring waterproofs in case of wet weather.

Booking is essential. For more details or to book a place, please call 01746 781 192.

Adults £3.00 Children £1.50
