Fourth International Garden Photographer of the Year Exhibition to be hosted by the Ironbridge Gorge Museums
22nd December 2011
The first International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition was held at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in 2008 and quickly established itself as one of the world’s premier photography events. Open to everyone from amateurs to professionals IGPOTY welcomes entries from any country in the world. The main exhibition is held annually at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, with a rolling programme of touring exhibitions throughout the UK and all over the world with venues including the Palace of Monserrate, Sintra Portugal, New York Botanical Garden, USA and Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney.
Anna Brennand, Deputy Chief Executive commented: “These images are truly spectacular and capture many different aspects of the garden; such as vivid images of plants and animals, sweeping views over both majestic and intimate gardens and portraits of characters both at work and play in their gardens. It is a wonderful privilege to be able to display some of these remarkable images at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum.”
The International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition will be open 10am to 5pm from Wednesday 18th July 2012 until Saturday 1st September 2012 at the Footprint Gallery, Fusion, adjacent to the Jackfield Tile Museum and will be a free entry exhibition.
