EASTER FUN ON THE SEVERN VALLEY RAILWAY

EASTER FUN ON THE SEVERN VALLEY RAILWAY in
Another packed programme of exciting family activities awaits visitors to the Severn Valley Railway (SVR) during the Easter holidays.

Step back in time with a steam-train ride along the scenic Severn Valley, from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth, with daily services running throughout the Easter holidays from April 12th – 27th 2014.

Hop on and off to explore the beautifully restored stations along the line – if the weather is nice, why not take a country walk and enjoy lunch at one of our picnic areas or restaurants?

This Easter, families can also enjoy a quiz to spot the chicks and bunnies along the length of the line and a colouring competition to be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes, including an SVR Annual Family Pass worth £120 or one of four standard family tickets.

Those wanting to find out more about the Railway can visit The Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley, which is home to an impressive collection of reserve locomotives, majestic Royal Carriage, array of family-friendly interactive exhibits and Railway-themed children’s outdoor play area. In addition, visitors to The Engine House this Easter can also hone their craft and make a Decopatch keepsake* on April 19th, 20th, and 21st.

The Coalyard Miniature Railway will also be running on selected dates at Kidderminster station during the Easter holidays.

Following their Easter activities, families can also enjoy a visit to the Railway to see children’s favourites Peppa Pig and George, who will appear at intervals during this year’s Family Fun Weekend on 10th and 11th May. There will also be a range of family entertainment to enjoy throughout the weekend – pre-booking is essential to avoid disappointment.

Families are also being encouraged to take advantage of the SVR’s ‘Fantastic Fares’ on Freedom of the Line tickets on 18th and 25th April, where they can enjoy up to 30 per cent off full ticket prices. Numbers are limited, so book now to avoid disappointment.
