Stuart Edmunds, Shropshire Mammal Group said ‘“The grounds surrounding Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre offer a diverse range of habitats, so I hope to find evidence of wood mice, field voles and even yellow-necked mice. The River Onny, which passes through the grounds have potential for otter sightings too, but as with spotting other species, we would need to be extremely lucky to see an otter out during the daytime!”

The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre won the accolade ‘Best Family Day Out – small venue’ it offers a variety of activities for the whole family and houses a replica of the famous mammoth skeleton found in Shropshire. The café serves delicious home-cooked food and an extensive shop selling a range of quirky gifts. Every half term and summer holiday the visitor attraction provides hands-on family activities.
