Apley’s Christmas Food Fair

Apley’s Christmas Food Fair
A Farm Shop near Bridgnorth will be holding its annual Food & Drinks Fair on Advent Sunday, November 30 during which delicious food & drinks will be offered by some of Shropshire finest producers.

Apley Farm Shop always has a wonderful, healthy & wholesome Christmas atmosphere, brimming with delicious produce to share with family & friends, cheerful Christmas lights & natural Christmas decorations. Holly, ivy, mistletoe, pine cones, teasels, silver & gold sticks will all be available in the Courtyard, near the huge Christmas tree sourced from Apley Estate’s own woodlands.

Whilst a quintet of saxophonists from the Abraham Darby Academy plays to visitors, they can enjoy mulled wine, minced pies & hot turkey & cranberry rolls served in the Courtyard.

Younger visitors can post their letters to Father Christmas in Alley Katz toy shop & watch him arrive on his sleigh at his Grotto at 10am in the Courtyard. No booking is required this year for the grotto, which is once again being organized by Scotty’s Donkeys & Animal Park.

Find all you need for presents & Christmas stocking fillers in the Farm Shop itself & the Courtyard shops – Alley Katz, Elizabeth Beckett Skincare & Lottie’s. There’s something for everyone. Particularly popular are the Apley Christmas hampers which come in 3 sizes. They can be tailor made (you choose, they pack) or bought pre-prepared. Head baker Julie has been busy baking Christmas puddings, Christmas cakes & Apley minced pies, whilst the Head Gardener in the Walled Garden has been tending the Apley crops of Christmas Day lunch vegetables.

The Creamery Café at Apley Farm Shop is a great Christmas party venue, with family, friends or work colleagues. Chef Martin McKee has compiled a mouth watering menu of festive dishes, mixing traditional turkey & ham recipes with some more unusual dishes, such as butternut squash & blue cheese Wellington. The very popular Breakfasts with Santa are also being held in The Creamery, perfect for families with young children.

Christmas orders will be open on the butcher & delicatessen counters. Between them, they can supply all you need for perfect family Christmas meals, including turkey, hams, bacon, stuffing, Apley game & of course the recently revived Apley Cheese. The delicatessen also has a wide selection of cold meats, tartes, pies, ready made meals & olives.

Lady Hamilton, Marketing Manager, has been busy preparing the Farm Shop’s 2014 Christmas decorations: “I love changing the decorations every year, using new & different ideas which I gather throughout the year, keeping it a surprise for as long as possible. The Shop’s building, in oak & glass, looks stunning at Christmas ”.
