May half term is almost upon us and during this school break the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford has planned a week of nostalgic dressing up fun to keep the younger members of the family entertained. Taking place from Monday 25 to Friday 29 May, visitors will have the opportunity to delve in to our dressing up box of RAF uniforms and aviation accessories and pose for pictures to stick in the family album.

Dornier Do 17 Two Years On Lecture

Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July

The popular Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival will take place over the weekend of 11th and 12th July outdoors on The Green at the Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron. Now in its 11th year, this free family event showcases some of the finest brass bands from Shropshire and the surrounding counties. With some 20 bands performing, it’s the largest, non-competitive brass band festival in the country.

RAF Museum Highly Commended at 2015 Museums and Heritage Awards

The RAF Museum is proud to announce that its exhibition 'Pilots of the Caribbean: Volunteers of African Heritage in the RAF' was given a Highly Commended Award in the 'Best Temporary Exhibition' category at the Museums and Heritage Awards 2015 held in London on 29th April. The exhibition is currently on display at the Museum's Cosford site in Shropshire until 31st October 2015.

First run in 2013, The Queen Victoria Cyclo-Cross has regularly attracted around 300 of the UK’s top off-road cyclists and has been described by Cycling Weekly magazine as “Britain’s craziest bike race!”

Visitors are being asked to help create a spectacular image of the Iron Bridge by using a state-of-the-art laser cutter to personalise a coloured acrylic tile.
