Shropshire Kids Festival – It’s coming to Telford International Centre February Half

Shropshire Kids Festival has seen huge success over the past 2 years with the Shrewsbury event attracting over 10 000 families having THE best fun for kids aged 0-14 years old. In fact the event has been so successful that demand has bought them to Telford International Centre for February half term 2018.

New digital workshops for all ages at Enginuity, Ironbridge Gorge Museums January - March

Discover more about digital coding at a new series of workshops for all ages in the FabLab at Enginuity, the Ironbridge Gorge Museums’ National Design and Technology Centre at Coalbrookdale. Separate sessions for children and adults will be held on certain days between 17th January and 18th March; no previous experience is needed to take part.

Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge, is putting some magic into Christmas especially for their youngest visitors with an enchanting festive trail for under fives. Available on selected days leading up to Christmas, the fun, new Tiny Tots Trail of Treats will delight children and their grown-ups as they follow clues to find treats around the Town on 6-7, 13-14 and 20-21 December.

On Friday 15th December, Shropshire Council countryside rangers at Severn Valley Country Park are holding a Christmas wreath making session. During the winter months, the park has a wealth of natural items including ivy, cones and berries which are perfect to adorn a festive wreath.


Christmas Market this weekend at farm shop

The Christmas season really begins this weekend at a farm shop near Bridgnorth. The indoor Apley Christmas Market has free entry & is a great day out for all the family. Many of Shropshire’s finest food producers will be present to showcase their products. Visitors will also find Shropshire artisan crafters, offering unique handmade Christmas presents, including candles, cushions, jewellery & even shark's teeth. Apley’s own staff will be showcasing their own products, handmade onsite all year round, including our award winning mince pies.


Barn Owl visiting Severn Valley Country Park

Shropshire Council rangers at Severn Valley Country Park are delighted to be welcoming the chairman of World Owl Trust for an evening talk held in the visitor centre. Alan Peace will be giving an illustrated talk examining the plight of the barn owl. This beautiful bird is the most endangered owl in the UK.
