The school has seven boarding houses which mostly have single and twin rooms but there are also some larger multi-bedded rooms available. There are both en-suite and shared bathroom options and we can accommodate up to 360 guests.
Our fabulous grand hall can be adapted for many uses from a formal dinner for 200 to a high quality concert venue or an exhibition space. The hall can comfortably seat 300 guests theatre style and has a stage area. The room is complemented by having five classrooms attached to it and Ante School is perfect for pre-dinner drinks or as a simple rendezvous point.
This large room can seat 250+ guests on round tables and still leave space for a dance floor or 300+ guests on rectangular tables. A lining can be added to the room to create a marquee effect. An equally impressive area is Ante Chapel the area outside the dining hall and this is perfect as a pre-dining reception area for canapés and drinks.
The Chapel of St. Oswald’s
Seating capacity for 450 guests this tranquil venue can be used by Old Ellesmerians for their wedding.
This stunning area makes the ideal venue for a summer's evening reception, overlooking our cricket squares. With the school as a backdrop we can also add a marquee to this area if required.
This standalone building has two particularly versatile spaces which are often hired. The ground floor assembly hall leads onto a patio area and is surrounded by a large grass area – this space is particularly suitable for dance classes or as a reception area for up to 80 guests. The top-floor open plan area which can accommodate 300 people is very popular with orchestras and choirs and there are plenty of classrooms which can be used as smaller practice rooms.
The 200 seat auditorium creates an intimate atmosphere for both touring theatre groups and conferences. The Arts Centre also has numerous practice rooms and a bar area which is ideal for serving interval refreshments. The Foyer Area can also be used in isolation for exhibitions and parties.
This light and airy room can comfortably seat 20 delegates and is ideal for training or a business meeting. Classrooms around the campus can also be hired for a small fee.
The 90m x 60m pitch is fully floodlit and is suitable for hockey and football for matches and training.
Fitness Centre and Weights Room
With state of the art fitness facilities, the Fitness Centre boasts 16 stations of cardio vascular equipment, 7 resistance stations and 12 trixter spinning bikes on a mezzanine floor. The separate weights room has a larger selection of free weights, an olympic bench and squat rack and is specifically equipped for the power athletes.
The 9 hole course was established in 1930 consisting of 3 Par 4’s and 6 Par 3’s. The par 30 course is open all year round and membership is available. Contact the Sports Centre for more information.
Having a site of more than 140 acres there is plenty of room for sports pitches including cricket, football and rugby.
The school has both an indoor and outdoor shooting range used by the school’s top shooters. The facility for clay pigeon shooting is also available as well as indoor and outdoor archery.
Sports Centre Classrooms
Classrooms with full AV facilities are an ideal location for small meetings or training courses.
The ideal space for most indoor sporting activities. The floor is marked for a numbers of sports including badminton, basketball, netball and volleyball. The Sports Hall is also ideal for 5 a side football and is fully equipped with nets for cricket.
There are two squash courts with a first floor viewing gallery.
The indoor 25m pool is the perfect place for a leisure swim or training session. The pool is complete with starting blocks, anti-wave lane ropes and digital pace clocks.
Tennis and Netball Courts
6 outdoor floodlit courts are available throughout the year.
